Laver is, as usual, being modest. He did what he did while playing with the traditional wooden racket on every sort of surface. The new young guys are great, certainly, but Rod's accomplishments are quite astonishing, and it is no accident that all modern players have failed to do what he did (so far, anyway). pbel

rcade has it right about Rivers. As far as Manning is concerned, he now has time to find a few more products to hawk. The guy is a pitchman for everything.

Vick and the others who promote this obscene activity should be banned from professional sports- period.

Gaetjens is a hero for sure, but I think you will find that it was Papa Doc Duvalier (not Chevalier)who was the tyrant and villain of the piece.
