Wayne Carey resigns from The Kangeroos: Wayne Carey is a big sports star in Australia, although in recent years his career has been troubled by injury and some controversy. Can't say I respect the guy from a personality POV, although he by anyone's standards a phenomenal footballer.

I'm not sure exactly of his motivation here. But it's notable because of his stellar career and the simple fact that it's really unusual for a footballer to quite mid-season for any reason other than injury.

I was wondering about that also. I didn't know this at the time I posted it, but apparently he was having an affair with another player's wife.
