Tiges also picked up Denny Bautista, it looks like. What they're gonna do now with Inge and Thames, I don't know—Thames platooning (but he's a bum who they should ditch) and Inge as what, utility infield? He's got a little better range than Cabrera, but looking at the prospectus, it looks like Cabrera will cost about six runs per hundred games while adding, what, 9 wins? Willis looked only a little over average for his career based on ERA+, even given the absolute shit year he had, and the rumors were that he was injured and trying to play through it. Hopefully, he can get it together for us in 2007.

Or kill a black man outside the stadium! Whups, that was Ty Cobb (well, not really, but it was a pervasive story for about 50 years). Tim Donaghy was the head of the reffing crew that jobbed the Pistons in 2006, right? Like, the 40% increase over other reffing crews in fouls called on Detroit? I think I'm recalling the right name and figures.

That's right, since I came here to gloat. Beat Chico by one point! (Despite having several no-minute bench boys and the fact that I would have been better playing McCullough than Henry, despite the, like, twenty-seven point differential in their costs).

Pistons get Iverson for Billups, McDyess, Samb
Between Culpepper and Iverson, it's been a great week for late-career stars in Detroit.
This should be a great trade for Detroit, especially if Denver buys out McDyess's contract, letting him come back (I always hoped that Antonio would see a championship in Detroit).
I love Billups as a player, but he's a choke artist in the playoffs (though I know some folks think the same thing about Iverson).
