Woo hoo! Almost took it last year, and back for more torture this year! -- Pix from the Satellite of Love

Odd that Chadwick would pick sacrifice to take the S over strikeout (or, I guess, struck). I would think sacrifice would live with a 'Sac' designation.

Oh, and my boy A.J. Burnett threw a no-hitter with 9 walks. Did win, though.

Here's another question...why are strikeouts scored as Ks? I mean, there is a letter k in the word strikeout, but I've never heard a reason for this stat designation.

I can play as well this year...not as up on baseball as I am in other sports, but with my Marlins as reigning WS champs, I'm feeling lucky!

Well, I would post it, were it not for the complete rejection syndrome I'm forced to deal with now. Like, what I say isn't good enough, and stuff. *whimper*

I'll say: Baltimore - I don't like either team, but having to pick one, I'll go with the home squad. Denver - See Week 16 in primetime. Colts didn't show up, will they this time? I say no. Carolina - Dallas has been very shaky of late (at least offensively), and Carolina gets it done on defense and special teams. Green Bay - Seattle can't win on the road. Period.

My team is mediocre, and I have no feeling for win or loss possibilities going into each weekend. Oh well...maybe mediocrity is enough for the playoffs this year.

Bah! You all suck! Goatees pwnz @ll! /trash So far, this has been a decent fantasy season...of course, I learned last year that can change real quick.

I'd be up for it. I don't follow the NBA like I used to, but I'd give it a shot.

So...#2 scoring, tied for 3rd place in record. Not too shabby so far. I'm still kinda pissed at Koren Robinson for getting himself benched Week 2. I might be 3-0 if not for that. Ah well...

By my last post, I mean the Yahoo survival game... I suppose I can stay on and go against grum from his game, tho.

Wow, that survival game sure didn't last long... Hurray for me!

wfrazerjr - I assume your team is the Rockport Rassafras, right? That seems to be a decent team. You could possibly stand a better #2 RB, and Javon Walker at WR is a question mark. Your backup QB isn't too hot fantasy wise either. I think that I (Greenbriar Goatees) came out with a fairly decent team. I will say, though, that live drafts are harder on the nerves. Watching and praying that nobody takes the player you're looking at before you...it can create ulcers! Honest to God ulcers!!

There seemed to be quite a few people who didn't show up for the draft Sunday. Everyone happy with the team they wound up with (I can tell team catfish wasn't)? As being my first live draft of any fantasy league, it was a good experience. Quick, too. I look forward to playing you guys this season.

I concur with SF...the warning helps to hold of the IT folks at the workplace, but links with pop-ups should be avoided at all costs.

Go tie for third! Finished third in another bracket set I was in, so at least I'm consistent. Now, if only I could win...

I guess I should have been looking more at this thread. Yes, as owner of The Satellite of Love, I am royally screwed now. At least I have another bracket waiting in the wings to win me some $$. Woo hoo!

Sounds like a decent idea to me. I would like a separate something-or-other for actual game discussions, if nothing else.

I hope this isn't in reference to the comment I made in the thread, as I was simply joking. As for "0 comments" being a sore sight for an FPPer, I agree. When one finds something of interest, posts it, and then sees it be ignored, it can be a pain. I've been guilty of trying to get a comment string going myself.

What I genuinely like about this site as compared to Metafilter is the lack of personal attacking (prominent just today in a couple instances), instant post bashing (i.e. newsfilter, iraqfilter, etc...) and the like. Anything about sports is fair game, and every now and then you get a pretty good discussion going. I also noticed the difference in comments to that one particular post between the two sites. I chose to comment here only, purely for the subject matter and to help ensure my comment would not get lost in a sea of bashing and snarkafied commentary. This site looks like it can eventually get to the point where most posts will have many comments (a la MeFi). I just hope it can keep what it already has in terms of post integrity and well-thought-out commentary.

Sportsfilter: posts are not actually deleted. They just disappear...
