Red staplers are so hard to find these days :(

The cunning thing being.. You can enter the same team in both divisions! Kinda.

As a result of a posh education and a dash of religion, I find I can no longer trash talk :'( I did try :-/ Never mind, let's all be happy and have a picnic in celebration. :toodles out to the sunshine:

Neener neener at Rings of Saturn and Crap City United for being pipped at the post to the UEFA spot. I kid, I kid..

9 Golden meece for me. Yay. Not as bad as the other league I'm in - 17 there. I'd like to claim the record for lowest total value of team at under 50 points. Hey, you can't say I didn't try to keep it interesting - the value of a deep squad..

Mossy Athletic Points: 3053.38 Overall Rank: 1954 of 498119 Percentile: 100 Rank Change: -401 A poor week, but still - top 2000 finish ^_^ Dammit, I loaded my midfield with the 5 top scorers and not one got a goal, hehe..

Hey, I did say replica.. We just need to sort out that whole 2-3 goal up nerves thing - if we hadn't had that, we'd be 7th..

posted by Mossy at 08:26 AM on May 16, 2004

The one Spurs are gonna be picking up next season ^_~ Yeah, it's a replica. And? Let's wait to see the final scores..

Wow, who woulda thunk he'd score 4?? I think he got me a european place in the other fantasy league though. Yay. Let's see how the final position stands.. I'm off to write a speech..

I completely forgot I enrolled in this one :o Never mind, a wooden spoon can come in handy sometimes. /salutes trox I'm backing Monaco for the final, as I did before they played Real. Go go Monaco..

I think it's a mathematical impossibility unless all my players get sent off now - champion the same week assernal win it. The shame :( Ah well, at least we didn't let them win at highbury..

posted by Mossy at 07:38 PM on April 24, 2004

In a controversial turn of events, manager Mossy has sacked Thierry Henry! Manager Mossy then looks at the sports results.. 4 goals? Gah.. But yeah, he'll stay sacked - come on people, fight for those Champions league places ;) I think I may adopt a tinkerman approach too :D

posted by Mossy at 04:54 PM on April 16, 2004

Yeah, axme (hehe) is the best part of the site these days.. Except a filter approach really, really doesn't work - it needs a higher degree of crosslinking to stop upteen posts about what the best cms is..

:wails: Manure beat the arses today. I don't know whether to be happy or sad. Stupid Chelsea..

posted by Mossy at 11:50 AM on April 03, 2004

I sold lampard for ljunberg. Why did I do that. I do not know. Hmm. Looks like a low score this week.. Unless Henry goes psycho. Bad luck with Forsell, best striker Chelsea have? A damn sight better than Crespo, that's for sure :grumbles:..

If you manage to catch up with me, I will eat my.. erm.. cheesecake. Yeah. But yes, 40 more points a week than me should do it - someone in the other league I was in got 170 this week :o

posted by Mossy at 04:53 AM on March 19, 2004

I'm quite fond of it myself ;) I generally look at bbc news for injury reports anyway. But yeah, looks like I'll win it this year at a canter as predicted last year, bit dull - what on earth happened to you guys?? I think the EPL for next season, even though I've been neglecting it this season. Until then.. Come on people! Poor show all round.

posted by Mossy at 02:27 PM on March 18, 2004

Dearie me, approaching the 2/3rds mark - what's up with you guys?? Mossy would like to thank his players for another sterling performance this week, helping to maintain the healthy cushion over the chasing, yapping and somewhat underperforming pack. Except Gary Neville. What a waste of space. Meh, I needed filler..

posted by Mossy at 07:26 PM on January 22, 2004

Hmm, could be interesting - I wonder where Defoe and Butt will go to.. Hopefully Tottenham will nab Diego too. At last :D

{insert trash talk here} Due to Tottenham kicking ass and me being happy at this aforementioned ass kicking, I've lifted my embargo on top three players. Still no horseface though, urgh.. Roll on this weekend and the weird results it will bring :D

Week 13 was an unlucky one. Good thing we have all the rest, eh? SF has 22 weeks for 220 points :D

I'm going to cling on to being a student for as long as possible. Well, until I run out of money due to no income source that is.. Doh. The reason we don't get credit for increases in player value is then it would make it far too easy - given the way those fluctuate, you could have about a thousand points by mid-season.. I would like to dedicate this weeks performance to, once more, not having any ManUre, Chelski or Assernal players. Sorry to hear that SF, at least you have some warning so a) you can sabotage away to get back at their resizing asses and b) you can find a new one so you can seamlessly switch come december after a short holiday :)

posted by Mossy at 01:47 PM on September 26, 2003

Oh crap. I forgot to switch out my only arsenal/newcastle player, given :( He's gonna get a pounding :ouch: Hmm. For the record I also have no manure players and only one chelski player in the guise of crespo. He has to go. Yesss, cleansing..

Since when has Owen become the heading maestro? That guys giving shearer a run for his money.. Points to note - Angel is on fire, Keane scored one and set one up, Jardel scored 2! Mind you, Robinson scored one as well, lol

:boogie: When asked of his teams excellent start to the season, Manager Mossy said the following: "Well, its been a good performance from the entire squad, half price and full price alike. The strikers have scored goals, goalkeepers have been consistent, the defenders have defended well and not got any points because this is yahoo after all and the midfield. Wait. Do we even have a midfield? Hmm.." I don't think anyone has scored more than 5 points there in the last 4 weeks, hehe.. Who'll be the first manager sacked on yahoo epl? I lay claim to the new, revitalised Tottenham of the league - say 5 weeks from now ;) Ok people, I'm being lulled into a false sense of security now. No, wait, I'm just sleepy.. Zzzz..

posted by Mossy at 07:27 PM on September 23, 2003

Crespo scored 2, Owen 1 and Anelka 1. Henry better screw up tmrw, grr.. Heskey is still a muppet though. Anyone read that quote from the Guardian: Did you know, by the way, that David Blaine has abandoned his attempt to stay in his defended cell for 44 days? Apparently he gave up in despair after hearing the record for doing nothing in a box stands at just under four-and-a-half years and is held by Heskey. Muppet :)

posted by Mossy at 08:25 PM on September 20, 2003

The Church of Francesco Totti has Heskey in his team. I shall prevail.

4-0. Ouch. Pennant got a couple of points so I don't mind much..

posted by Mossy at 04:17 PM on September 15, 2003

The hell? Where did this church suddenly come from? Welcome anyway :) I'd like to thank my half price wonders for putting up such a brave show this week. Almost all of them have made way for the true excessively high value players as my team worth leaps to 99.05 :-o Truth be told, we're having a pretty crap season so far, come on lads! Nice to see the unmentionable one finally hitting his stride - have at you! :D

After yet another completely random crash on Firebird I've gone and installed Opera. Wow. Polished is the only way to describe this, may even buy it. Coo. Jardel needs to lose some pounds. Lardass.

posted by Mossy at 05:43 AM on September 03, 2003

Oh my - all of my cut price players played :D And Angel even managed to get two goals! I should have stuck with sakho and owen though, doheth.. Unsatisfied at his teams reasonable performance, Manager Mossy is now laying off players left right and centre - who knows who will survive the cull? Postiga won't, thats for sure - what the hell were the Tottenham team on yesterday??

posted by Mossy at 07:48 AM on August 31, 2003

Done - 49.98 points, exactly half of last week ;) Now to sit back and watch as half of my players don't start :D Have a great weekend y'all, I'm off to do some odd and generally random stuff (I've had tooo much sugar, muahaha). ;)

posted by Mossy at 11:36 AM on August 29, 2003

Damn, Yahoo got wise to the Mossy Correction factor - the numbers all add up properly now :) Only 8 points between sauril and I - come on the rest of you! I was planning mid-table mediocrity until a final late surge like last season - more dramatic that way ;) In the spirit of fostering competition and giving some lesser tried players a run out, Mossy Athletic WILL BE FIELDING A TEAM OF COMBINED VALUE 50 POINTS. Come on everybody! Take advantage of anti-Abrahamovic small spending spree of week 4 and get competitive! :D

Mossy week 1: 28.85 - Anelka 3.91 - Postiga 1.23 - Barton 0.88 - Fernandes 3.29 - Holland 0.38 - Geremi 1.61 - Johnson 2.44 - Finnan 19.00 - Howard 10.65 - Mossy correction factor God bless Enron accounting :) I claim those points as Yahoo didn't let me change my players that first friday before the deadline - was going to put giggsy in :( What on earth has happened to Blammo's? Lulling us into a false sense of security?

posted by Mossy at 12:39 PM on August 26, 2003

Ahhh.. I was right about the 2 matches this week for yahoo - the deadline on sunday is for the midweek matches methinks :)

posted by Mossy at 09:25 AM on August 23, 2003

Why don't they just sign Paim while they're at it? Ah well, get em cheap and young - Man Utd got Beckham from London at 14 I believe :) Is it just me, or are there actually two sets of matchs this week? I've been watching the under-17s tournament on Eurosport - its quite amusing sometimes. Especially when colombia beat Finland 9-1. Kinda sad that too, memories of getting beaten when I was that age too.. :sigh:

posted by Mossy at 05:20 PM on August 22, 2003

Yahoo amuses me - they can't even add. Still, I wasn't expecting number 1 until week 5 at least :) PremierLeague looks like being a bit of a loss until about a quarter of the way through the season - buying for the future, doh..

posted by Mossy at 07:22 AM on August 22, 2003

Just to let you know I'm just giving y'all a false sense of security. Yeah. ;)

posted by Mossy at 02:11 PM on August 16, 2003

Should I have my customary 3-4 week gap before signing up to give y'all a chance? ;) Actually, I have a Yahoo team already from my phone forum (Modaco), so I'll sign up to this one.. Ta da. Highest average points scorer from last season is in. Hehe. Yahoo is a ten minute a week jobbie. I approve :) That odd trophy shall be mine!

5-0 after 25 odd minutes. Oo er.. Who picked Pennant in a star move then? Come on :) Watch Henry rack up those assists, w00!

I think Fat Buddha and I have had a moderately successful week so far.. Pulled back 100 points on SF already :) I only pulled back 1 point on him though :-/

posted by Mossy at 09:51 AM on April 20, 2003

Hehe.. Goal and an assist for Henry.. Goal for Shearer.. Goal for Van Nistelrooy (plus an assist) and his goal vs Arsenal.. Goal x 2 for Scholes.. Goal for Murphy.. Apparently Brad Friedel finished off with a crapload of good saves too and j.lloyd had a good game - you watch your back worldcup ;)

posted by Mossy at 03:11 PM on April 19, 2003

Ahh, but then I'd only have 160 points to catch up, not 240 as Fat Buddha has.. That shall be my goal.. And to join earlier in future fantasy sports, hehe..

posted by Mossy at 07:44 PM on April 09, 2003
