My guess is HUGE!

So, why has yahoo just added one player's points for me, and from Sunday's game no less. What about all the other players, who played on Saturday? What, someone just decided "I'll update Ashley Cole for now. And then I'm off for fish and chips"? I mean, it's this kind of shoddy work that caused the fall of the British empire! Blimey!

I don't know, but they have updated a few of my players and right now i can pretty much afford anyone i want...so i'm off to make my last trades.

Make sure you pick only 10 players or all injured ones.

Ahem...WHERE is the MLS report? Ufez is in first...and i am about to pass up those dangling tits! I prefer firm ones anyway...

Does this look like Harry Kewell to anyone?!
posted by StarFucker at 10:31 AM on May 06, 2003
You know who that really looks like? Robert Pires!

Does this look like Starfucker?

How did I lose a place without any of the matches being scored anyway? Sheesh, this is getting ridiculous.

FB, the Fooker doesn't wear any earrings in his ears, though one can't be too sure about other locations being pierced.

I think you got the toothless grin just about right.

What are you talking about trox?
posted by StarFucker at 06:41 PM on May 06, 2003
They still haven't updated the points! And it's already more than two days since the Sunday games. Crapmonkeys! Well, go Arsenal. Whatever.

This seemed the best place to post this amusing pictorial guide to the EPL teams.

Looks like its not going to be updated till after today's game...

Think Arsenal will smack the Saints around, or just save themselves for the FA Cup? I mean, what's there to play for, and what's the point of risking players now?
posted by worldcup2002 at 11:36 AM on May 07, 2003
Arsenal have already said they'll be resting players, so I'd go for the latter.
posted by squealy at 12:14 PM on May 07, 2003
Sure hope they rest Henry...
posted by StarFucker at 12:17 PM on May 07, 2003
I think that Arsenal will probably TRY to smack the Saints around to send a message and get inside their heads a bit in advance of their meeting in the cup final. They'll probably rest everyone against Sunderland this weekend to be fresh for the final.

I hope both Fabrice Fernandes and Ashley Cole score hattricks. Fabrice can score one more, too. Heh.
posted by worldcup2002 at 01:18 PM on May 07, 2003
Yeah, that would be great, i have Fabrice...

Squealy, that's a great map! Funny and informative, especially since I have no sense of English geography. Never realized, either, that London has six EPL teams--but will this change with the promotions and relegations? If the Times publishes an update or there is a place I can watch for it, please let us know.

5-0 after 25 odd minutes. Oo er.. Who picked Pennant in a star move then? Come on :) Watch Henry rack up those assists, w00!
posted by Mossy at 02:20 PM on May 07, 2003
Damn! I'm off to the bar to watch this slaughter. Based on this match, the FA Cup Final is going to be really boring.
posted by worldcup2002 at 02:22 PM on May 07, 2003
I wouldn't know about the map bill. I nicked it off another message board. Birmingham isn't exactly where it says, but aside from that it seems fairly geographically acurate (Warning: I know very little about geography). Arsenal v Southampton isn't on here, so there's a first - wc2002 being able to watch a game when I can't. :-(
posted by squealy at 02:36 PM on May 07, 2003
I could have watched it too, but i am at work. It will be on again tonight... Henry with 3 assists, Van Bronckhorst with 2 so far... Dammit! Why didn't i keep Pires!?
posted by StarFucker at 03:10 PM on May 07, 2003
Well, note to self: MAKE SURE THE BLOODY BAR TV IS WORKING BEFORE YOU HIKE ON OVER THERE JUST TO STARE AT A BLOODY MIRROR AS YOU EAT YOUR LUNCH. At least the food was good. Damn.
posted by worldcup2002 at 03:19 PM on May 07, 2003
Crap - I was right about the two hattricks - but wrong about the players. Pennant and Pires are having a feast!
posted by worldcup2002 at 03:21 PM on May 07, 2003
So none of you had Pennant? Fools!
posted by billsaysthis at 05:36 PM on May 07, 2003
No, did YOU?! WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO UPDATE?! I'M FREAKING OUT!
posted by StarFucker at 09:05 AM on May 08, 2003
Hey, i'm not going to start a new thread about this...but we are going to need something to keep track of all the transfers this summer. Instead of creating new threads each time something happens...we should just have something on the "sidebar"?
posted by StarFucker at 09:18 AM on May 08, 2003
We should just create a new thread everytime it happens. Then keep adding new trades in the comments until the thread disappears from the front page. When it does, we'll just add another new thread when another trade happens. It's convenient and it'll annoy the hell out of the soccer-haters. (But not as much as a new thread for every trade, rumor, etc.) Heh heh heh.

I thought I would duck in and see what happens in here. Mommy, I'm frightened.

Billsaysthis, Pennant is not available old chap, he is not on the list, fool.
posted by Fat Buddha at 12:06 PM on May 08, 2003
Pennant is available, you Fat Fool! So stop calling bill names. Go to Midfielders (you probably went into Forwards, you lummox) and type in Pennant. Bog buffalo! Discombobulated fruit bat!

oh, great, yahoo! has just added two points for Fabrice. Now, what about my other nine players, you lazy monkeys?! (I already have a stinking 3 pts for Ashley Cole.)
posted by worldcup2002 at 01:13 PM on May 08, 2003
Well fuck me if Yahoo cannot even get a simple matter like that right it's no wonder Starfucker is winning!
posted by Fat Buddha at 02:03 PM on May 08, 2003
If only the scores would stay like they are now, i'd be up 2 spots this week!
posted by corpse at 02:22 PM on May 08, 2003
Yeah....thats why i'm winning Buddha... Look at the silly Englishman looking for an excuse!

Now, wc2002, I detect sour grapes as you consistently boasted you would be overtaking me when, in fact, you were going backwards, you slug sucking lickspittle.
posted by Fat Buddha at 05:11 PM on May 08, 2003
When are they going to fucking update?!? I need to make my changes!!
posted by StarFucker at 10:06 PM on May 08, 2003
Hahahaha! It's too late, SF! The deadline was yesterday! Hahahaha!
posted by worldcup2002 at 11:20 PM on May 08, 2003
Deadline to edit players for Week 39 is Fri 09 May 11:59PM BST.
posted by StarFucker at 08:32 AM on May 09, 2003
Damn. He didn't fall for it. btw, those lazy bastards at yahoo! have still not updated the scores. I only have points for two players. Sheesh. Wake up!
posted by worldcup2002 at 11:03 AM on May 09, 2003
Yeah, it seems kind of weird to have the locker room thread fall into the archives without ever getting the standings. We should definitely change to a different league next year.
posted by pfuller at 11:06 AM on May 09, 2003
Well, i made my trades...i hope they turn out to be good ones. Its hard to tell who is going to play Wednesday. Only West Ham, Bolton, Villa, Fulham, Chelsea and Liverpool have anything to play for really...who knows who will start or even be on the bench...
posted by StarFucker at 11:50 AM on May 09, 2003
Well, no standings because the poor people at yahoo! have only just begun to update our scores. But it's safe to say, I think, that SF is still the leader. The question is: How big is SF's lead? (heh)
