World Soccer: Puerto Rico shutouts Bermuda again!: On Friday January 18th, for the 2nd time this week, the Puerto Rico National team defeated their Bermuda counterpart, this time 1-0, at the National Sports Centre in Hamilton, Bermuda. Puerto Rico had already defeated Bermuda 2-0 on Wednesday January 16th. The Puerto Rico national team, which hasn't played since 2004, is undergoing a renaissance as they build towards a World Cup qualifier against Dominican Republic next March. According to FIFA rankings, the Puerto Rico team is ranked 196 (out of 207) in the world. According to the Northern Irish Head Coah of the national team Colin 'General' Clarke the Puerto Rico team is not that bad and says that their position at the bottom of the pile - compared to Bermuda's 146th - to be more to do with inactivity than lack of ability. The Puerto Rico team had not played since 2004. Clarke who also coaches the USL 1st division Puerto Rico Islanders said that the squad had been galvanized by a sense that a genuine national program was starting to come together for the first time in years.
Now this is what I call shaking off the rust!
