Sammy Lee bolts off from Bolton.: Second EPL manager to bite the dust this season. (Jose Mourinho was the most notable first.) I must say Bolton's performance and results have been nothing short of disappointing so far. With star players like Anelka saying they're "waiting for a big club" (immediately after signing a four-year Bolton contract no less) and Speed dropping his coaching role to focus on playing (just last week), who's going to want to take Sammy Lee's place?

Is there not a Wee Sammy or Tiny Little Sammiette out there to take over?

Looks like Steve McLaren will be available sooner rather than later.

Anelka "waiting for a big club"? He's already been at Arsenal, Real and Man City (who aren't just big - they're massive). Who's he kidding, apart from himself and his brother/agent? And Arsenal offloading him for 25 million quid a few years ago looks more and more like an excellent piece of business. One would think Arsene Wenger was a transfer genius, if it wasn't for the fact that one of Anelka's replacements was Franny Jeffers.

Damn right we're massive.

I'm gonna go with someone who got fired from a Championship team. Bolton are too cheap. I'm guessing that's why Big Sam left for Newcastle after doing wonders with the little he was given. Or it may be Paul Jewell, who did the same for Wigan last season, but I doubt it. Bolton owners might want him, but he's not gonna want to go from one stingy boss to another. 'ello, 'ello! Guardian says David O' Leary is interested (former Arsenal great, managed and sacked at Villa, now unemployed) and other candidates include Boothroyd (Watford) and Peter Reid (former Everton great, managed Man City, Sunderland and Coventry, now unemployed).

This is gonna be sad and/or funny to watch. Bolton did a right cock-up losing Big Sam.

Bolton for the drop or too soon to predict?

Looks like Steve McLaren will be available sooner rather than later. Or are the FA thinking that Sammy Lee is suddenly available?

Or are the FA thinking that Sammy Lee is suddenly available? Don't even joke about it.
