Julia's Gold: Neither sleet, nor snow, nor familial dysfunction will knock Julia Mancuso off form. This SF Chronicle Mag article was a fun read this weekend. This lady's family history may be more interesting than her Olympic 2006 Torino gold in the giant slalom or her bid for further glory.

This lady's family history may be more interesting than her Olympic 2006 Torino gold in the giant slalom or her bid for further glory. Eh, maybe...if you're not interested in the sport. Otherwise, you'll be watching that gold medal run for a looong time and saying, "Damn!" It really was one for the ages. Mancuso is the most well-known (to the general public) member of an extraordinary generation of women on the US team. It's going to be a tough year for her, simply because there's a lot of talent out there, but she's definitely in the mix with the very top racers, as are several of her teammates.
