MrFrisby: is the happiest man in New Jersey Kentucky right now.
I'm not envious. New Jersey has 39 million in commited salary, a reduced cap because they went over last year and still haven't signed Gomez and Gionta. Have fun with Elias though.

Is this really true or is there a big conspiracy to mess with me? So far TSN is the only one reporting this.

Wow, you're right. I'm not seeing it anywhere else either. How odd.

Looks like it's just not official yet. The signing of Langenbrunner pushed the Devils' salary commitments to about $39 million. That meant Devils president and general manager Lou Lamoriello probably had to use a clause in the labor agreement that allowed him to exceed the cap by 10 percent during the free agency signing period. But according to this, it is $39 million with Elias. But that still is alot for only 16 players, well 13 when you exclude Malakhov, Mogilny and McGillis. That only leaves like $5 million for 7 other players. So it sounds like Gomez or Gionta are gonna be moving on. I hope it won't be Gionta.
