88 year old trains for triathlon: I know that stories like these warm some people's heart, but for me it just means that if I manage to live to be 88 (a long, long shot at best) then people like me will be expected to be in this good of shape too! Sure hope my doctor doesn't get wind if this lady or she'll have me out jogging by the end of the week. Why doesn't she really set a good example for the elderly and sit on her porch sipping scotch like I intend to?

I hear ya, cody. I've got about 60 more years to go, and I'm already practicing for my front porch. That Sippin' Scotch award has my name all over it.

I am more of a Jim Beam kind of gal, commander cody. But surely you know that 88 is the new 60! So in 18 years, I will only be 8 yrs older than I am now. If you think of it that way, you (and I) might have a chance. lol

I wrote an article once about a 92-year-old blind woman who ran in a local road race. With guide dog, who apparently goes running with her every day. They were a very functional team.
