Who should "tone it down"?: I can't help but draw some comparisons to this blowout by the Canadian men over the host Latvian team at the IIHF World Championships and the Canadian women's domination of the Italian team at the Turin Olympics. In this case, it is the fans who apparently need to "tone it down", where in Turin, it was the Canadian women who came under fire for such an overwhelming performance over the host team.

In this case, I'm afraid under the IIHF rules, goal differential is an important factor in later round seeding, so international format really encourages running up the score.

i'm thinking the police or security at the arena should have TONED it UP! that had to be one of the most embarrassing moments for the country of latvia ever on an international sporting stage. the canadians did NOTHING wrong. the canuck women did nothing wrong in turin either. they just played the game the way it is meant to be played.
