Robbie Fowler.... Danny Murphy is just confusing. Because Spurs need another central midfielder.

DJ Campbell - £0.5m from Brentford to Birmingham. He was playing for non-league Yeading only six months ago.

Diaby to Arsenal from Auxerre. Although he is super young, he's looked imposing in what little action he's had. He may finally be the solution for the absence of Viera.

Diaby to Arsenal from Auxerre. For sure neither Fabregas nor Flamini, two other kids, have stepped up decisively for the spot. Upgrading this position could be the difference between Champions League and UEFA Cup for Gunners next August. Biggest surprises for me were two things that didn't happen: - ManU didn't bring in a central midfielder - Portsmouth, for all the new money, didn't take in any name players besides Kiely. Heck, Benni Mccarthy turned down a move there from Porto. Also, Reds sending Sinama-Pongolle out on loan. Even with Fowler's return, I didn't see that coming given his recent minutes.

Apparently a few big clubs were sniffing around Jermaine Defoe, but no deal. And DJ Campbell was bought on the basis of a 10 minute highlight reel from the Cup match.

- ManU didn't bring in a central midfielder Although Rio's only had 2 games there, he looks OK...except for the goal he gifted Blackburn last night of course. Bentley to Blackburn?! And scored a hat trick against United.

Rio Ferdinand is playing in midfield now? I know I saw O'Shea there in one game before he got hurt but have not heard about RF as MF. That's just weird.
