Philadelphia prosecutors are expected to seek a warrant today against Allen Iverson on assault and threat charges. Iverson allegedly forced his way into an apartment in the middle of the night last week looking for his wife and cousin, but don't blame basketball for his problems. Blame rap.

The warrant will be submitted today, according to this Philly.com article. Wow, Allan and I have the same initials.

Blame rap? This is a domestic issue gone completely wrong. This is yet another case of a big name figure pushing the envelope. It's a shame, because I think they're really going to try and make an example of him this time too.

He listens to the rap music which gives him the brain damage, and he doesn't know what the jazz is all about, y'see?

One of the Dallas sportstalk radio hosts, Greg "the Hammer" Williams of KTCK, coined a saying when the Dallas Cowboys were generating headlines like this all the time in the '90s: "Nothing good can happen when you're out at 3 a.m." After watching Iverson in the NBA Finals two years ago, I finally began to appreciate what an incredibly talented player he is. I wish he could abandon these childish "thug life" antics.

A little jail time will probably do his rap career good. Besides, his lawyers will probably get him excused with a slap on the wrist at worst. It's nothin' but a G thang, bay-bay. My name is C-nikal. Peace out.

Police Commissioner Sylvester Johnson told KYW-AM that Iverson allegedly had the gun inside his waistband. But Johnson noted, "A bulge could be anything." That has to be my favorite quote from the article. How many arrested athletes threads have we had lately? Oh, I forgot, you see Allen is a guy who is so good, he doesn't need to go to practice. What leadership on and off the court. Yes, I know, he is a human and makes mistakes, and we shouldn't set people up on pedastals, but athletes, to a varying degree, chose this life for themselves, and Iverson has obviously chosen it. You can be a good player and a scumbag, but it takes a special person to be a good player and a leader. And those are the ones that deserve to be remembered.
