Its now official, players approve new MLB drug testing policy: The threat of congress stepping in seems to gotten this done quicker than most expected.
I don't think that it will do much of anything. What did the MLBPA give up? Go to your job and test positive for marijuana and tell me what happens. All this policy does is bring baseball into some semblance of normalcy with the rest of the world. Steroids are a drug just like meth, marijauna, etc. Plus, it was not the Commissioner that made them draft this new policy, it was the U.S. Congress. The MLBPA cannot really hang this over Selig's head because he had not choice.

I know that this story is a kind of an anti climax. I am wondering what this drug policy will do to the whole notion of labor management. I am tinking that it may effect contract talks for the next labor agreement. The union has given up a lot lately. it certainly will be interesting.
