We have a winner (and a whiner?)!: Indianapolis 500 result is hopefully final now that IMS/IRL President Tony George tells Team Green and Paul Tracy to go pound sand...

George noted that, in “real time racing,” a yellow caution period begins when Race Control calls it on the radio, a consistent practice since the IRL started. Unfortunately, their own rulebook states that the caution period starts when the yellow lights come on (the rules does not specify whether that refers to the dash light or the track lights). So basically George is giving a bunch of facts which makes it seem like HCN won but which shouldn't actually factor into the ruling.

Well well well. What a surprise. The IRL driver won.
