The 2002 All-Star Game teams have been announced.: But don't worry, if your player didn't make the cut, you may have a chance to make things right by voting for the 30th Man. How did your picks stack up and who are you taking as #30?

I went Andruw Jones in the NL, Jim Thome in the AL. I'm just happy that my team has multiple All-Star reps this year. Damn Rolen taking the starting spot away from Lowell.

Gotta go with Andruw Jones for the defense alone.

Damon in the AL, Klesko in the NL. Next year, I am looking forward to having a new AL coach in there besides Torre. Doesn't have to be my personal favorite, just someone - anyone - else. That's all I am saying.

Giles in the NL, Erstad in the AL.

Suck this Selig: Vidro and Guerrero in the STARTING lineup! What can be sweeter? Oh right, a World Series...oops sorry for jinxing. Erstad AL; Jones NL.

I think I just saw Pedro Martinez on TV declining to attend the All-Star Game... In other news, MLB has the updated vote totals up for the 30th Man. So far, Johnny Damon has a narrow lead over Jim Thome and Andruw Jones has a wide lead over Giles.

You did indeed, jgirl. Craig Counsell in, Kim out. Wasn't Kim the one that blew two saves for the D-backs in the last World Series? It's all going to be twenty miles from me, and I can't even go. How are you supposed to get tickets for this damn thing anyway? It's a day after my birthday and everything.

Jones my ass, he's as overrated as Tom Glavine. Chavez in the AL, then Damon, Benitez in the NL!

Please explain how Andruw Jones is overrated. As for Byung-Hyun Kim, having seen him dismantle the Red Sox a couple of times, I would say his numbers this year made him an All-Star.

Some additonal cometary (and rants) about the this year's all-stars from Salon's Allen Barra at: "Where have all the all-stars gone?" I think Barra misses the point. The mid and late 90s saw the maturiy of a new generation of stars (i.e. Bonds, Sosa, McGwire, A-Rod, Schilling, Johnson, etc.). However, baseball is at the point of a changing of the guard where new stars are emergering. I submit that that the same thing happened during the late 80s and early 90s. In a few years the young, emerging stars of today will just as goods the superstars of four or five years ago. Where have all the all-stars gone? They are here, just a bit early.

I don't understand what the fans were thinking picking Rolen in the NL. For the extra spot in the NL I'd pick either Pujols or Klesko.
