Is it too early to discuss Le Tour? : of course not. The itinerary for next year was announced today. I can't wait. It's going to be tough.

And only 8 more months before Kraftwerk's 'Tour de France' bores a hole in my brain again.

They really want Ullrich to win, by the look of it. Over 100 km of dead flat time trialling! Basso is improving in the TT's, but Jan can still put minutes into him on a long, flat course. Also, the three mountaintop finishes are not that tough, apart from L'Alpe d'Huez. La Toussuire and Pla-de-Beret are long but not so steep, which suits Ullrich. His climbing has been kinda dodgy in the last couple of Tours, but he's perfectly capable of sitting in the right wheel and grinding it out on the not so steep climbs. Basso will have to attack more, which to his credit he tried to do this year. The lack of a TTT - and I for one am glad it's gone - must have pissed off CSC and T-Mobile a great deal!
