Eco friendly surfboards are here.: Why am I not surprised that hemp is involved in their manufacture? A good idea, although surfboard debris is less a problem than other forms of beach pollution. Any other surfers out there?

I think the point is to use less toxic chemicals in the boards' manufacture, not eliminate "surfboard debris". The Lacquers and fiberglass in modern boards create alot of very toxic waste, that I have seen many a surfer simply pour out, or pour down the drain.

You're right, Jungle, but I was more interested in the biodegradability aspect. I never thought I'd use a word like 'biodegradability' on this site...
