Elvis Costello is a Liverpool fan.: Costello describes how he delayed a recent concert so he could watch Liverpool's Champions League final triumph. I tried my best to keep my eyes from the TV screen over the bar at the back of the room but the words "Oh s***, he’s missed" might have accidentally crept into the lyrics of Good Year for the Roses. I've never been a Costello fan, but I might be now.

I've always been a Costello fan, though this is of course completely irrelevant to his good taste in football.

The audience took up the anthem like a mini-Kop and saluted the Liverpool victory with the massed illumination of their mobile phones. Brilliant.

Oh, Starfucker, you are so off my Christmas list. Without a natural rooting interest in the Premier League, this is the kind of thing that would sway me toward pulling for Liverpool. (I was partial to Manchester City because a friend dug them, but I wouldn't call that a strong reason to back them.)

Also, I used to be like this when I was touring with my band during the Stanley Cup Playoffs, which was generally easier because there were Leafs fans (or haters) everywhere. I can completely relate to his devotion to his club.

I was about to call him a glory-hunter but he's been a scouser loving LFC fan long enough. No doubt though he started out as a glory hunter when LFC actually had a good side.

I can say I am completely unbookable on Sundays during Football season here in the states. Unless, of course, the Bengals are on MNF. How funny would this have been though: Been a good year for the Roses Many blooms still linger there F***in' Christ, He mised a wide open shot! Funny, I don't even care
