Are you kidding me?: Phil Jackson and Kobe Bryant are scheduled to meet this week in Los Angeles. It looks like Phil is seriously considering returning to LA. Can he turn this team around?

Well - this would be that 'Phil Jackson is really a hack coach' litmus test we've all been waiting for. Only ONE all-time top 50 greatest players, this time Phil. Let's see you right this ship. I for one, welcome it.

Buss: Hey Phil, you wannanother piece of my Daughter?? PJ: That and 10 Million, and I'll consider it. Buss: Hey Kobe, I can get Phil back, or we can hire Chris Jent as the coach. Kobe: Man, Phil is a great person. That's about how I figured that conversation would go.

So an ancient once said, "Accept the anxieties and difficulties of this life". Don't expect your practice to be clear of obstacles. Without hindrances the mind that seeks enlightenment may be burnt out. So an ancient once said, "Attain deliverance in disturbances". --Zen Master Kyong Ho [ 1849-1912] So, maybe that is why? He needs some hindrances for his path to enlightenment? Best I can figure anyway...

Depends on what you mean by "turn this team around." Playoffs, yes. Titles (at least as presently configured), no.

LeBron could easily end up in LA. I think for Phil to go along with this he has to get Kobe to concede that he needs help, that it takes two stars to win, and James might be that guy. Having said that, I am really fucking tired of Phil. Go away already old man.

LeBron could easily end up in LA. If the Lakers get LeBron, I will eat my hat. L.A. could offer Lamar Odom, Caron Butler AND Kobe's wife, and Cleveland still wouldn't give up LeBron. He's the cornerstone of their franchise for the next decade. He isn't going anywhere.

Having said that, if they somehow, someway did end up with him, I would happily eat my hat. Pass the ketchup.

I think Lebron is a free agent after the end of next season, so the Lebron to LA fantasy is not necessarily that outrageous. Whether he and Kobe could co-exist is another story.

Phil rode the big harley off into the retirement sunset.....if he comes back, lets just hope he doesn't bring "Rodman" along too. Lakers are finished for at least 3 years. Phil or no Phil.....look to the Pistons, and the Heat this year. And maybe next year....the best team won't be eliminated before the seaon starts....i.e....detroit and the lack of control fans, officials, and most of all....Palace security

phil won with two great players M J and shaq Man are you wrong .MJ enabled the whole Bulls team to win those 6 titles .1 out of the 3 in LA were a team effort, the other 2 were just Shaq bullying and kobe draining, not to mention the leagues strength then.Phil wont win another title any where.

He is only trying for #10.Its not happening .If it does it wont be for 5 seasons, and only after trading Kobe.Lets face it the run in L.A. is done and wont be coming back.

Phil (or anybody else for that matter) wont turn the Lakers around without another "star" Player. Kobe is NOT MJ no matter what he says.! Their ego (phil and Kobe"s) are way too big to work for very long togather. A turn around will take more than one season, I doubt if they could last that long. I am more concenred about a new CBA. I think that there could be a lockout...
