Remember it like it was yesterday. Also, damn I'm getting old :)

Given the Rangers' lack of success in the '70s, this was the first time hockey really registered with me as interesting. Then the Devils came along ;)

Ok...let me preempt my comments by saying that I love hockey. And I think that the story of the 80 Olympic team is incredible, hell even the movie was damn good. But... Holy cow can we just lay off a bit? You would think they won this year. With all the media hype about the movie and now the 25th anniversary...it just won't go away. I never thought I would get tired of this story...but it keeps on coming up...over and over again.

Nowadays I mostly like remembering that game because it reminds me of the Lake Placid Olympics...the last of the small-town, human-scale Olympics.

To commemorate, I rewatched Miracle. The game was one of my early memories watching sports on TV with my Dad. Happy Anniversary USA Hockey.
