Ukraine Strike(r): No, not this strike, though the symmetry is responsible for the post. "...in the last month 'Sheva', as all Milan fans call him, has scored all of Milan's goals in the Champions League and in the Serie A."

More symmetry: Kiev wins, Donetsk loses. An encouraging omen for those people currently standing in their thousands as the snow falls in Ukraine, I'm sure.

I think Sheva is pretty amazing, now why doesn't Liverpool reach all the way down to the bottom of their purse and buy him?

I think he's after Big League football, not also-rans.

Squealy, I know you're just taking the piss, but couldn't you just see a healthy Cisse or Baros partnered with him wearing the Red? Gerrard, Garcia, Alonso and either Riise, Kewell or Nunez in the midfield and, well, some decent defense and a new keeper to match? We'd give ManU and Arsenal a run for second, we would!

Doubtless he would be a superb signing for any team he decided to move to, I just can't see it being Liverpool somehow.

I'm with Squealy. I can't see Liverpool being able to afford Shev and I can't see him leaving Milan to go there. With the January window coming up, Bill, who will the Reds be buying?

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Spanish-speaking membership expand, MrB, though their is a certain Johnson with a Polish grandparent who's caught a few eyes as well.

OTOH, we really do need to find someone to upgrade the central defense whereas Cisse, Baros, Luis Garcia and Kewell will all be healthy and FSP and Mellor may grow into real forces (one hopes) lowering the longterm need for help up front and maybe we just need to find help in that department on a remainder of the season basis.
