Santini quits Spurs.: No link. Breaking news on BBC. Former French coach Jacques Santini has resigned as Tottenham Hotspurs manager, after less than six months in the position. Meanwhile, the Guardian has rumors that previous Spurs manager Glenn Hoddle is off to West Brom.

OK. The Beeb finally posted a proper link. "Private issues in my personal life have arisen which caused my decision."

When Santini was hired by the London club and after France's dismal performances at Euro2004, [someone] on TV over here said "Santini has been hired to make Spurs play like France. Instead, he's made France play like Spurs." Which still makes me chuckle now. Meanwhile, Tottenham have announced Martin Jol will take over as head coach, as they continue with the whole Director of Football > Coach thingy, which has worked so well for them the last few years. Possible relief for Spurs comes with the rumour that West Brom will install Bryan Robson as their manager, meaning there's one less relegation spot for anyone to worry about.
