I think the Sparks might surprise everyone by not making it through the first round. Yeah, the Monarchs have been lackluster all season, but Yolanda Griffith was amazing in the 'lympics, and the Sparks mystique got busted for good and all last year, IMO. Plus, Lisa Leslie jinxed 'em during the NBA playoffs by saying that the Lakers would win because "that's what we do in LA." Swin Cash has a torn ACL, and won't be in the playoffs. As for the Sun, the main strike against them is the "we can do it, no, really," thing, which at this point they have neither more nor less of than anyone in the east. I just don't see New York or Washington as having that much fire. I think the best first round series will be Seattle vs. Minnesota, easily, although Sparks vs. Monarchs could be good if Ticha Penicheiro wakes up. East is gonna be...tentative. I think you're right, Miz Bat, though that depends on whether Detroit gets Cash back. With Swin Cash, Detroit is as deep as anyone in the Conference (even the Sun, who have as good a starting five as anyone), and even with a five-game final, they could ride momentum and enthusiasm a long way. Especially if the Sparks get through (both my head and my heart are leaning Seattle, but I'm sure LA getting through would not surprise anyone). LA would be tired after beating both the Monarchs (who will be tough) and the Storm, and they'd be easy pickings for the Sun.
