Brewers fire manager Davey Lopes, record win over division leaders the same day.: I know they're in the cellar, and noone really pays attention to the Brewers anyway, and the firing wasn't a surprise considering their abysmal start to the season, but I still hate it when this happens. Call me a big ole softy. This softened the blow a bit, though.
It probably helped a lot that the Cardinals had to call up and use 2 AAA pitchers to shore up their depleted pitching staff.

It was a great game, but a bittersweet win, and all based in Sexson's batting skills. Why doesn't someone fire the hitting coach or some of the other coaches if the players aren't getting the hits or runs? Doesn't make much difference now, but this all just blows. I liked Lopes. Rumour has it George Karl is next.
