Kidd out for the season?: Not even the Nets know for sure. An MRI doesn't show any damage, but the pain persists. With the Nets in the midst of a 3 game slide this looks ominous.

Most of the other playoff bound teams have gotten or are getting over their injury woes ( Lakers, Spurs, etc.). Now is definitely not the time for your star player to go down. If this injury keeps Kidd out for the remainder of the year the Pacers or Pistons could very well find themselves waltzing into the Finals.

It might not only be Kidd that's done for the regular season. I've read rumblings that Kenyon Martin might also shut it down to rest his knee, and that his rest might extend into the playoffs: KENYON MARTIN, who has missed the last two games with tendinitis in his left knee, worked out but did not practice. Martin had estimated that he would miss a week, but when asked Monday about the possibility of missing the playoffs, he said: "I don't know. That's not the plan, but if I'm still hurting at that time, then my future is more important. I want to play. But if it's still hurting at that time, then I won't play. But I'm pretty sure I will."
