Kidd for MVP?: Jason Kidd has helped the New Jersey Nets double last season's win total and put them in the playoffs. Who's your choice for MVP?

Kidd will win, I don't know if he is who I would pick though. usually, whoever the media talks about most of the year, will win it. AI and Tim Duncan certainly derserve it just as much. Take them away from their respective teams and the 76ers don't make the playoffs, and the Spurs are down there with the sonics, jazz and clips. You could also make a case for Baron Davis.

Paul Pierce gets my vote. This guy has steadily improved every season in the league and he has most teams tickets. I don't see Kidd as the only reason for the Nets "turnaround". I see the Nets as an improving team that is finally showing signs of competing as a team. I don't see Jordan as MVP, yes his team plays better with him in the lineup but it doesn't appear as though much has rubbed off onto his players. They are pathetic without him on the court. He came back to teach, but his pupils maybe slept through his lessons. Hopefully next year they'll get the idea.

Why not Ben Wallace? Where would the Pistons be without Ben Wallace? See how insane all this Kidd for MVP talk is? He's not even one of the top 10 players in the LEAGUE.

I would also put Wallace ahead of Kidd. Good call.

As far as this "where would the team be without him?" junk goes, the Lakers are 8-7 without Shaq, so presumably he's the MVP? Hardly. Just like Iverson, we're talking about the Most Valuable Player, not Player Whose Team Gets the Most Stinky When He Sprains His Toe. Kidd is an exciting player, who *led* the Nets from the first moment he wore their uniform. How many of these top 10 players lead anything but your fantasy team? Jason Kidd is the best player on the only team that's going to win 50 games in the East. The Nets were 26-56 last year, that's not a turnaround? Now, Tim Duncan, you can make a case for him. All due respect to Ben Wallace, but this MVP "candidate" may want to think about dropping in a few shots. Paul Pierce? First you might want to prove he's the best player on his team. Barron Davis?!? Playa, you trippin'.

Pete. You, me and three midgets might win 50 Games in the (l)east conference. Jason Kidd is not the only thing that changed on the Nets - last year they were all injured. Why not Kenyon Martin for MVP?

Kenyon won't win because of Stern's secret deciding vote.

I'd pick Kidd since he's done a great job turning the Nets around. Although if Jordan hadn't injured his knee and had taken the Wizards to the playoffs, he'd be a contender.
