A timely day at the ballpark.: The San Francisco Chronicle’s Bruce Jenkins took a stopwatch to two major league games this week to test baseball's new timesaving rules (even though he already said it’s “destined for failure.” What should they do to speed up the game, or is it OK as is?

I agree that the new rules are silly, and no one would be worried about them so much if there were more day games. You can squeeze only so much T.V. money out of baseball, with so many games in a season, you might as well let people =enjoy= summer games. He didn't mention, though, what the current time is for switching between half innings. If that's a large hunk compared to what's "saved" with these new rules, then it's obvious that the main fault is with the commercials.
