Hey owlhouse, I just read a great interview with Deniz Tek and he mentioned some of his favorite gigs of all time. Here are two of them:
Paddington Town Hall, Sydney 12/12/77: This gig was probably at the peak of the band's power in the 70's, just before we left for the UK. There's a good recording of it, the LP captures much of the magic.
Hope and Anchor, 1978: The only time the band ever played three encores, because they wouldn't let us leave.
Were you in attendance for either of them?

Yes! I was at the Paddo Town Hall one - apparently we found out after the fact that it was their farewell before heading off overseas. There was a bit of drunken aggro at the back of the venue at one stage, and us youngsters (I was a 16 y.o. with some school mates) ended up being sprayed with a lot of beer foam.
The gig itself was good, if nothing special, but the time and place, and the (then unknown) future of the band appeared to give it legendary status, very much in retrospect.

but I don't want to miss the Ohtani v Trout match-up tonight.
With two outs in the ninth in a one-run game, no less!

Tonight is the WBC final between Japan and the US. There is no way that the game can match up to the excitement and intensity of last night's amazing Japan v Mexico semifinal, but I don't want to miss the Ohtani v Trout match-up tonight.
