Johnson cheated in the World Cup Final?: Grow up.

Proof positive that we Irish shouldn't be allowed to talk in public. Even if he did have a magic water bottle, it's not against the rules of the game to talk or listen to one's coach.

That's pretty damn amusing. Thanks. (Also, surely if there is any mystery from the final, it's why England spent the entire second half getting punished for seemingly outclassing Australia in the scrum.)

Absolutely - I only hope that Ireland have been studying the tapes and will employ the same tactics come the Six Nations - "They're pounding us in the scrum! But it's OK - all we have to do is stand up and we'll get a penalty!" England got done for having 16 men on the pitch earlier in the tournament, but no one said anything when the ref played for Australia for most of the second half in the final.

Planet Rugby has the most sensible article I've seen yet about the refereeing of the match. In effect, it says "don't be so bloody stupid".

This may be the Australian version of former All Blacks coach Laurie Mains's Suzie, the mysterious 1995 pre-final food poisoner. Or not. I love rubgy ... but what the hell does that sentence mean?

I love rubgy ... but what the hell does that sentence mean? Before the 1995 final, the All Blacks had, or maybe claimed to have had - I can't remember - food poisoning, due to some under cover South African tampering with the team meal the day before the match. I can't remember whether it was true, vaguely true, or just lies and excuses, though.

Suzie never existed. (I should do some research before answering questions, I suppose)

There's a lesson there for us all - don't eat seafood at 7,000 feet above sea level and several hundred miles from the ocean.
