The Padres make their move to fill seats next year.: It's been a busy season of trades in baseball, and it's not over yet. The Pirates are still expected to move Jason Kendall and Reggie Sanders, and Rondell White just landed with the Royals. What was the best move made this year, and who should your team go out and get?

Who or what did they get for Rondell?

Never mind.

Lilnemo: answers his own questions faster than he answers yours. I like both deals, although I think KC may have given up a bit much for an aging bat. I have to figure Rondell may wear down a bit in September, but I guess if you are the Royals, you take your chances where you can get them. The Cards (my team) landed Mike DeJean and Sterling Hitchcock, two guys who will either help a ton or be absolute no factors for the remainder of the year. Still, at least we're going out and trying to shore up what has to be the worst pen in baseball. Esteban Yan, your plane to Memphis leaves now.

What question did I not answer?

LOL, it was a compliment. It always seems like you have an excellent link for everything. I meant that the only thing that beats your answering our questions is answering your own.

Phew! Thought I missed something. Thank I appreciate the sentiments.

Jesus, jerseygirl, I can't believe you did it again. I mean, where do you get off?

Yeah I can't believe I did it again either! :) what the hell are you talking about, btw?

Can I ask a question somewhat related to the topic? Are trades allowed after the trade deadline in MLB? Giles just got traded... how did this move happen? Also, I think Seattle and NYY did a deal post-deadline... I guess I'm confused.

Waivers 101 on the side bar.

Jgirl, this appears to be a pretty lucid discussion of post-deadline trading. The July 31 date is not as big of a deal as it used to be, but people still get stuck claiming guys that no one else wants in the name of screwing someone else (Jose Canseco, anyone?)

Thanks guys!

Jgirl, the second picture on this page has nothing to do with the subject ... but I love it nonetheless.

jerseygirl, I was poking fun at myself and other spofi MLBFL warriors who whined as you were trading your way to the top. The insinuation is that all one sided trades somehow involve you. (I was teasing, of course).

Ahh. Okay. I think you're in the wrong thread, but okay! :)
