Watching Hard Knocks, I realize I'd love to see HBO follow a team throughout the season-especially a mid-grade team that struggles and may not end up achieving that much. I understand why NFL films wouldn't want to show that, but it'd be interesting to me.

Also, Bryan Cox is hilarious.

This season (haven't seen episode 3 yet) is weird: it's less dramatic than the others, but still has it's moments. I'm struggling because it turns out Matt Ryan is a pretty awesome person as far as I can tell (sneaking into the receivers' meeting simply to say in front of everyone he was wrong on a coverage read and the receiver was right, etc) but I can't bring myself to root for a team with Mike Tice on it. My wife keeps asking why I get so irritable when he speaks. I wish he still had his pencil behind the ear; it was as wonderful a comedic device as Homer Simpson's half glasses for a dope trying to appear smart.
