Meanwhile, a level below the top in England yesterday, bottom side Yeovil Town had three players sent off and scored an own goal and still got a point away to seventh-placed Reading.

Including the 8 minutes of added time, Yeovil had to play 32 minutes with 10 men-v-11, 28 minutes with 9-v-11 and 11 minutes with 8-v-11.

Yeovil have now discovered why they are bottom - not enough fighting spirit with 11 men on the park.

Expect a staged sending off strategy to be implemented for the next game.
