Floyd Mayweather puts on dominating display in win: Canelo Alvarez proved nothing more than easy money for Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr.
Mayweather turned one of the richest fights ever into just another $41.5 million payday Saturday night, dominating Alvarez from the opening bell and winning a majority decision in a masterful performance that left no doubt who the best fighter of his era is.
It's not boxing if there's not at least a smidge of absurdity.

I had it 118-110 Mayweather. You can have some argument about the first three-four rounds, and I gave Canelo R8, but to make it a draw (especially giving Canelo four of the last five rounds) is...incomprehensible.

The judge who scored it 114-114 enjoyed a moment of fame last year when she was one of two who somehow scored the Bradley-Pacquiao fight for Bradley.
The decision in favour of Bradley caused Bob Arum to say he'd "never been as ashamed of the sport of boxing as I am tonight." Fortunately last night all it did was tip a very obvious Mayweather victory into a majority decision, but even so, I was open-mouth-stunned when it was read out.
