SportsFilter: The Tuesday Huddle:

I'm sure this probably counts as a self-link, but if anyone's still interested in matters golfing, I just posted a bit of a rambling comment in the Adam Scott thread. Naturally it had nothing to do with Scott (rather, Tiger) and nothing to do with long putters (rather, the rules about where your balls may drop *cough*). I'll check back from time to time if anyone wants to get into it.

Thanks JJ, a good read. Pity you didn't end up in the rule book.
I like the "philosophical minefield" you mention about defining "as close as possible", and wonder what a smartarse bush lawyer golfer might do with an unsuspecting tournament referee.
Zeno's Paradox with the arrow in flight came to my mind.

You don't have to be a cricket fan to enjoy this.
In my playing days, we had magpie attacks in deep fielding positions, and the occasional kangaroo invasion which held up play, but not badgers.

Samuel Dalembert expresses an interest in signing with one of the teams in his current playoff series, but not the one you'd expect.
