Real Madrid, following a similar stunt last year with Ronaldo, will broadcast Beckham's three hour medical exam on pay per view nets worldwide. Cost for putting your company's logo directly behind him: a measly UK2M. Estimated time to recoup transfer fee: less than three years!
Question: Any SpoFites gonna cough up for this event? My answer: not in this lifetime. Guess I'm not as big a footy fan as I thought, even though I suffered through yesterday's embarassment against Brazil in Spanish.

That's crazy. I wouldn't pay money to watch Spanish League football, let alone watch Becks take his medical. Nothing against Spanish football, in fact I watched the final Real game of the season last night down the pub, it's just that I'm the man that Scrooge modelled his spending habits on.

squealy: Personally I couldn't go without Sky Sports. I primarily want it for the Premier League football, Zurich Premiership rugby union, and Super League. Spanish football is just an added bonus. I can't imagine anyone other than over-excited Japanese schoolgirls paying to watch Beckham's medical.

Being a "footy" fan does not require you to look at Beckham's ass... You are MORE of a football fan if you think Beckham isn't really a football player but a marketing strategy.

I know what you're saying Salmacis. I choose to watch Sky down the pub rather than subscribe so I can watch with my mates and a pint in my hand. Also it annoys me the way they split the football between three sports channels to make sure you have to subscribe to them all. Finally, Rupert Murdoch is the anti-Christ and I refuse to hand him any of my hard-earned cash. I haven't got a clue what StarFooker is saying, but that's not unusual.

Clarification: the Spanish commentary was, I'm sure, just fine. I suffered because I don't understand more than two or three words of the language.
