So I stumble into Hoopdata after a weekend of forgetting about the NBA and I find that the Philadelphia 76ers are THE BEST TEAM IN THE LEAGUE. Their defensive effeciency is an absurd 89.7 points per 100 possessions. That's 3 points better than Chicago, 5 points better than everyone else, and 8 points better than anyone's full season mark in the last 5 years. Offensively, they rank 3rd with an impressive 106.2 points per 100 possesions.
How can this be? Oh, they just played a home and home with Washington and then the Bucks last night. They've actually played 4 of their 13 games against the Wizards. That's going to make your stats sparkle.

Could Josh Hamilton's days be over for the Rangers?
Also in today's local rag, it appears that his father-in-law has decided not to be his shadow for the upcoming season. The coach that had been his shadow is now with another team.

The Heat just did terrible, terrible things to the Spurs. Down 14 at half turned into a 22 point win. Key stat: Mike Miller on his first game of the season was 6-of-6 from 3-point range.
