There's a rumour circulating that the Pats are going to cut both Haynesworth and Ochocinco. Haynesworth, I can understand if he's not performing, but Ocho seems like exactly the kind of receiver the Pats needed last year and didn't have.
Colour me confused if this ends up being true.

I think this is the case of a misleading headline. Admittedly, I just skimmed it, but I didn't see anything new: the contracts allow the Pats to cut these guys with little or no pain if they don't work out, basically. So, yeah, they could not be long for the Pats, but that's not news. It's not like they've got one foot out the door and the other on a vaselined trout: clearly the Pats would like them both to work out, and so far there haven't been any major indications that that isn't going to happen.

That article is even worse than the one it's based on. The National Football Post quotes an unnamed source, but the Yahoo article makes it sound like Mike Reiss is suggesting the same when that's not true at all. I haven't seen a single local writer suggest this is true and there was a good piece by Tom E. Curran suggesting Haynesworth's absence is part of a regular knee maintenance program he's on.
It all could be true, but so far it's just one smoke signal.

Will Power is unimpressed with IndyCar race officials.
