Boras is MLB's version of Josh Luchs?: “The money obligates them to the agent, gives the agent leverage, and coerces the athlete to do what the agent wants because of fear of foreclosure or other adverse consequences for the athlete or the athlete’s family,” said Mark S. Levinstein, a prominent sports lawyer who is a partner at the Washington law firm Williams & Connolly
Surprised this isn't getting more discussion here. I've long thought of Boras as despicable and a prime example of what's wrong in professional sports today, but I really didn't think he was quite this bald-faced about it.

Good article
Actually, I find the article a little confusing. Who, in the end, actually represents Edward Salcedo? It suggests that Edgar Mercedes (directly or indirectly) intervened to enable Salcedo to eventually negotiate a contract with Atlanta in March of this year--presumably through the services of some other agent. Yet it concludes with Mercedes saying that Salcedo was returning to the Boras fold because of money his mother still owed Boras.

It is hard to add anything new when it has all been said--and Lil_brown_bat, you pretty well say it all here.

Good article. I've never been a fan of Boras at all...not sure if this will lead to any comeuppance, not likely as long as his tide keeps lifting the entire unions boats.
