The 20 Greatest Football Managers of All-Time: and Phil Brown.
I've always wondered about Bob Paisley. Was he that good a manager or did he just benefit from inheriting Shankly's team and training/tactical methods? I know it's hard to argue against Cups, but many of the others on the list were tremendous innovators.
Glad to see Lobanovsky there. An amazing character. And Ramsey was a great innovator, despite what some elements of the press would say.

The stuff Ramsey did at Ipswich is hardly ever mentioned as the press focus purely on the wingless wonders, (which in itself was a tactical innovation, albeit an unattractive one)
Ramsey was probably the first manager in England to play consistently with a forward off a main striker and led Ipswich to the Division 2 championship in 1961 and then won the English title in 1962 - Ipswich's first season in the top division.
We also have very clear information about how much of a difference Ramsey made because after the title he left for the England job and his successor, Jackie Milburn, got the side relegated in his first season in charge.
I got to grow up hearing about Sir Alf and watching Sir Bobby. Good times.

No Alf Ramsey. I can't even read the list.
