What's to become of Mesut Özil?: Werder Bremen finds itself in a "Damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation.

I agree with the caution exercised by his camp -- why would he go to a club where he is not guaranteed a starting position? (Same question I have for why Fabregas would go to Barca, at least until Xavi retires or moves into a more limited role.)

Arsenal - Buying Mesut would make it much easier to sell Fabregas, who could be a cancerous presence if he really wants to go to Barcelona and Wenger blocks him.

Chelsea needs a replacement for Ballack, just as the national team did last month, and Lampard ain't getting any younger.

Manchester United seems like the best fit to me for immediate playing time with Hargreaves constantly injured, Anderson under-delivering and also both seriously injured (car crash) and rumoured to be leaving and Fletcher looking more like Scholes's successor than a playmaker.

Though Fergie appears well chuffed by Chicharito right now, and I think he'll be tempted to throw him in from the start of the season.

You think Little Pea will be the attacking mid? I see him out on the right or displacing Berbatov as a striker.
