That kinda sucks. Kinda emphasizes some of the good fortune that played a role in those 7 wins also though, doesn't it? If it wasn't his swan song (or even though it is), it'd be a pretty crushing day.

Sure does. By my reckoning, he only had one crash in the Tour between 1999 and 2005. Then three in one day. Plus one on stage two. Oh well.
