Seve denied an emotional return to St Andrews: In 1984, Severiano Ballesteros won the Open at St Andrews. In October 2008, he was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Four operations and 72 days in hospital followed. Last year he watched Tom Watson almost win at Turnberry and vowed he would return to St Andrews this year to compete in the four-hole Open Champion's Challenge, but his doctors have advised him not to travel.
That was incredibly depressing. He doesn't seem to enjoy his memories, even the good ones. Is he recovering?

Seve: emotional, bombastic, unpredictable. Damn, I used to love watching him play. Even if he can't make it to this years event, I hope he is able to return to the Auld Grey Toon for a round of golf someday...
