Mike Brown Fired by Cleveland Cavaliers: A report is circulating -- again -- that the Cleveland Cavaliers have fired Mike Brown. This time it's ESPN's The Magazine's Ric Bucher saying he has learned that Brown is out, despite guiding the Cavs to the NBA's best regular-season record the last the past two years.

He should be fired. What a playoff flop. Especially since Boston has exposed Orlando for the mediocre team they are, it puts the Cleveland series loss into perspective. They were really unprepared for playoff basketball.

Again!

Honestly, most average coaches could have taken a team with a talent like LeBron to great regular seasons. As the Celtics have shown this year, everyone starts taking it seriously when the playoffs hit, & it is clear Brown couldn't hang.

That may be true, but Cleveland is now under tremendous pressure to sign a top notch coach who's a proven winner if they're going to keep LeBron there. I think, as much as a coaching change was needed, it couldn't have come at a worse time. There's too much uncertainty now.

Unless LeBron demanded it.

I think I hear Bulls drooling.

Losing Brown isn't that huge a deal. Average coach who's team quit on him when it counted most. True, it doesn't come at a great time, but if LeBron wanted him gone, he really had no chance. And, as mentioned above, the Magic are begging to get knocked out of the playoffs, so Cleveland basically handed the Celtics a free pass to the finals.

I don't think the Cavs quit on him, I think they just didn't know how to cope with what the Celtics were doing. I'm not sure if that's more or less damning of Brown though. If you want to see a team that quit on their Coach, check out the other Coach Mike (Woodson) to get canned this postseason.

A better coach would have played Shaq for less minutes, he was hopeless against the pick and roll this postseason. I have to believe that a better coach can get more out of an offense with Lebron James in it. This regular season they were great but in this postseason and in prior seasons they were just awful and unimaginative, and it's unforgivable to have an offense that bad with Lebron on your team.

Imagine how good this Cavs team could be if they were playing as close to their potential as the Celtics are right now. I don't think they've gotten close to it and that's why Brown has got to go.

These Celtics right now, it's beautiful. I haven't rooted for the Celtics in awhile now but they are playing so brilliantly right now I hope they win it, they deserve it more than anyone at this point.
