Hatton V Phillips.: Tonight, Ricky Hatton, a whey faced individual from Manchester takes on Vince Phillips for the WBU light welterweight championship. My head tells me boxing should be banned, but something primeval drives me to it and I cannot help but watch and enjoy it. Hatton is an interesting character, mildly spoken, nice to his mom and all that, but is absolutely brutal in the ring. This fight has been designed to heighten his profile in the U.S and could be a classic.

Whoa whoa, say what you want about boxing, but don't insult GTA.

In my more rational moments I might agree with billsaysthis, although I would probably try to be a bit more courteous. In my more normal irrational moments, I cannot help but sit, rapt, while men such as Hatton and Phillips demonstrate immense skill, courage, stamina and, yes, brutality. This fight tonight was brutal in the extreme and Hatton won on points, even though at one point he "didn't know if I was in Manchester or Las Vegas".

Fat Buddha, must be your reptilian brain at work but your comments clash badly with your nickname.

Well spotted dude; may I pedantically point out that you should never, ever, post anything other than "this".

Fat Buddha, to what "this" are you referring? Please elucidate.

Boxing is a sad hangover from our barbaric past, like GTA: Vice City without the technology. Hard to think we'll ever get past war and other forms of interpersonal violence when people still do and watch crap like this for entertainment. Sorry for the semi-hijack. This is the first boxing thread since I signed on here.
