"We have a war to fight, too...: the Washington Wizards are trying to make the playoffs," says Tyrone Lue. "'Lue's teammate, Jerry Stackhouse, added 'we're going to war abroad, and we're going to war on the floor. Hopefully we can prevail in both.'"

Reminds me of one of the very few Shaquille O' Neal qutoes where he ever made a lick of sense. A reporter asked him if he felt "pressure" right before shooting a couple free throws. He said, "Pressure is not knowing where your next sandwich is coming from." Pretty dumb analogy to be sure...but I know non-athletes in my life who are every bit as cavalier about the war going on...they just don't have reporters sticking mics in their faces.

Double up, Vito! :P You know, it's funny, but isn't always basketball players who say stupid stuff like this? I think it comes from a sublimated sense of needing to make the game sound tougher than it is. Well, that, and complete idiocy.

If I hear another cretinous Jordanphile say the Washington Wizards can win the East, I'll plotz. That team is horrrrrible.

They're going to war now? The season is more than half over.
