Crucial battles today.: Including England v Turkey. No, it's not another war. But damn close. It's the Euro 2004 qualifiers! Tonight's games will complete the first half of the qualifying round-robin. After Saturday's 2-0 win over little Liechtenstein, England can top Group Seven with a win over the Turks. In the England camp, another battle brews: Rooney or Heskey to partner Owen? A Guardian poll says: Rooney.

OK, hic, oh Jeez it's gone midnight. Owen was hopeless btw. Thank God Vassell plays better in a white shirt than he does in claret and blue. Roonaldo rules. Cheers to the ref for the penalty. What a muppet. I hope they don't spect me to do any thinking at work tomorrow. Engerlund, Engerlund, Engerlund. :-)

Whats the big deal? I think its cool that they have so much passion... Did anyone get hurt?

Its not the passion that is objectionable, it is the lumpen posturing, chanting and naked racism and aggression that is annoying. I am as passionate as the next chap but the thugs are just fucking boring.

Is the game on the Internet? It's on the Five Live schedule, but it's not clear whether that includes the Net.
