Winter transfer window about to open: Rumors abound, as always: Ribery to Real Madrid, continuing the spending spree, though maybe not until Summer, van Nistlerooj back to the EPL via Anfield loan. Some deals are done (Landon to Toffees, Becks to Rossoneri). Some teams claim they will stand pat (Chelsea) despite missing players while others are backing away from such a claim (Wenger may sign a striker). Some players want to move to get on their national team's World Cup roster (such as Italy's Luca Toni and American Robbie Rogers).

Next move for Adu? -- anyhow, a couple of reasonable soccer blogs I read say that Adu would need to take a big pay cut to move to MLS and a better option might be a Danish or Norwegian club.

Apparently Belenses have let Freddy Adu go as well. He'll be looking to hook up with a team somewhere (can't find the link right now since I heard it on Twitter).
Hmm Luca Toni might look good in Red and White.
