Major League Baseball, umpires reach 5-year deal
Is it because I'm too lazy to hunt for the story, or has there been no development in the NBA officials' lockout?
And while I can admit that I didn't watch any of the World Series at all, I sure do recall some of the botched calls leading up to it. Was their performance much better in the World Series? And does anyone know, on average, how much a Major League umpire makes a year? How many games? etc. etc. etc.?

Spain to Expire 'Beckham' Tax Break: Foreign players in La Liga who sign contracts for salaries over 600k Euros after 1 Jan will see their personal income tax rate at 43%, while those who signed from 2004-2009 paid 24%. Existing contracts, that is, keep the lower rate.

'Lucky guy' Mike Fisher to marry Carrie Underwood, since we're linking TMZ and People at SportsFilter now, I thought this would fit right in.
